Kohl’s is offering teachers and school staff a special discount for the first time.

For three days – from Friday to July 18 – you can receive a 20% discount on purchases in the store, which Kohl shares exclusively with USA TODAY, on presentation of a valid school ID.

The discount is intended to thank educators and school staff “who endured an incredibly challenging year,” said Greg Revelle, Kohl’s chief marketing officer, in a statement.

“With educators and school staff investing so much time and talent in developing and designing our children, we hope they can take advantage of this 20% discount to treat themselves to something special before the start of a new school year,” Revelle told USA TODAY .

The discount applies to K-12 teachers, daycare and early childhood educators, post-secondary educators and school staff. It cannot be used with any other percentage discount coupons or age-specific discounts.

As with the retailer’s other coupons, some exclusions apply, and this discount doesn’t apply to gift cards, electronics, toys, beauty and fragrances, and select brands such as Crocs, Columbia, Eddie Bauer, select KitchenAid, Koolaburra from UGG, Lands’ End and Levis. During the three-day discount, customers will receive $ 10 in Kohl’s Cash for every $ 50 they spend on a future purchase, according to Kohl’s. Teachers can also earn extra Kohl’s Cash with the free Kohl’s Rewards loyalty program.

Staples Introduces Classroom Rewards App, Teacher Discount

Retailers often offer discounts to teachers year-round, including during teacher recognition week in May and before the back-to-school season.

Staples announced the launch of Classroom Rewards on the chain’s Staples Connect app on Tuesday. The program allows parents to return a percentage of their in-store Staples purchase to a registered teacher or school of their choice, the retailer said in a press release.

Staples is also offering 20% ​​teacher discount to teachers and school administrators participating in Classroom Rewards through September 30th.
