CTC teams with Cybint to offer skills training | Business

Central Texas College announced that it has partnered with Cybint, a global cyber education training company, to offer the Cybint Cybersecurity Boot Camp.

Designed around military training methodologies, the program provides relevant, hands-on cybersecurity skills training and is designed to successfully prepare anyone with little or no background in IT for entry-level cybersecurity jobs. The boot camp is open to civilians, active military personnel, and veterans.

The Cybint Bootcamp is an in-depth training program that provides hands-on skills necessary for a high-paying career in cybersecurity. It was created to address the cyber skill deficit and shortage of cyber skilled workers in Texas and around the world.

Texas has more than 47,200 cybersecurity vacancies, making it one of the top three states in need of cyber workers, behind California (66,700) and Virginia (58,600). With cybercrime on the rise, there is an increasing urgency to fill the cyber skills gap through retraining the workforce.

“Cyber ​​criminals view the 29 million people of Texas as a huge pool of potential targets,” said Sarah Mylcraine, community programs coordinator for CTC’s Education Division. “Texas businesses and individuals lost $ 313 million to cybercrime last year. The likelihood of even greater losses in the increasingly digital post-pandemic world makes the need for cybersecurity professionals even more urgent. The bootcamp offers students the opportunity to achieve a cyber career as quickly as possible. “

Cybint’s range of tiered cyber training and staff development offerings is structured from the ground up to equip employees with cyber skills.

Upon completion of the Cybint Bootcamp, graduates will receive the training they need to ensure they can protect their business and themselves from emerging cyber threats.

Roy Zur, Cybint’s chief executive officer, noted that the bootcamp might be of interest to those associated with the military, especially those retiring from the service.

“As a veteran, it is always a real honor and privilege to help military personnel, veterans and their families transition into the world of work,” he said. “In a few months so many of CTC’s bootcamp graduates will begin their new lives and careers in cybersecurity, and it is amazing to know that Cybint has helped.”

CTC works with more than 25 military facilities in the United States, including Fort Hood and Europe, to provide educational opportunities for soldiers and their families.

“CTC is always looking for worthwhile programs to help transition military and veteran students,” said Mylcraine. “We see great potential in this collaboration with Cybint and are currently working on additional opportunities with a focus on changing military and veteran students.”

The boot camp will take place Monday and Thursday, August 23 to February 25, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
