Soroptimist ‘Live Your Dream’ grant allows Detroit Lakes woman to pursue college degree

Live Your Dream Scholarships are awarded to women who are pursuing a college degree while supporting one or more family members. Swenson is pursuing an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in humanities from the Minnesota State Community and Detroit Lakes Technical College. Your goal is to continue your education and acquire a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.

Those interested in claiming a Live Your Dream 2022 Scholarship should visit Soroptimist’s Facebook page for information on how to apply. the application deadline for the 2022 awards begins in July.

Mendoza named on the list of the SNHU president

William Mendoza, Frazee, was named to the list of President of Southern New Hampshire University for his academic achievements in the winter semester of 2021, which runs from January to May.

Full-time students with a grade point average of at least 3.7 are placed on the presidential list. Full-time status is achieved by acquiring 12 credits during the term.

Local students receive academic honors at Crookston

The University of Minnesota Crookston’s Office of the Registrar recently released the names of several local residents who received academic awards for their achievements in the spring semester of 2021.

Myla Lewis, Lake Park, was among the students named to the Spring Semester 2021 Chancellor List, while the following students were named to the Dean’s List: Syd Bly, Waubun; Brianna Johnson, Detroit Lakes; Michelle Swyter, Frazee; and Peyton Syverson, Waubun.

All students must complete 12 or more Letter Graded (AF) credits to receive academic awards. In order to qualify for a place on the Chancellor List, students must also achieve a grade point average of 4.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester, while students must achieve a grade point average of 3.66 or higher for a place on the Dean’s List need to achieve.

Anderson named to the UW Stout’s Dean’s List of Lake Park

Jacob Anderson, Lake Park, was among the students inducted into the University of Wisconsin-Stout’s list of deans for his academic achievements in the spring of 2021.

Anderson, a senior at UWS, is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in plastics engineering. To qualify for this academic honor, he had to achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Two local students on Jamestown deans list

The University of Jamestown (ND) recently added two local students to its deans list for academic achievement in the spring semester of 2021.

Both Paige Oswald, Frazee, and Sydney Prussia, Audubon, met the required criteria for a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

Two local students are graduating from Crookston

Two native students, Myla Lewis of Lake Park and Peyton Syverson of Waubun, were among the graduates from the University of Minnesota Crookston as of the end of the 2021 spring semester.

Lewis graduated with honors and received a BS in Agricultural Education while Syverson received a BS in Natural Resources.
