College Of Lake County: College Of Lake County Brings More Programs Entirely Online, Plus New Pharmacy Tech And Audio Studio Start This Fall

Associate in Arts (AA) Degree: This program features smart scheduling that allows students to take 8-week courses on the same night (s) of the week as they work towards their degree. Students can take two courses per semester without having to attend them at the same time. Associate degree graduates earn an average of 30 percent more than high school graduates over the course of their careers.

Accounting: Online learning through CLC allows students to study and gain a qualification in a flexible course format to find employment in a sought-after area in Lake County and southeastern Wisconsin. The accounting program prepares you for a career in accounting with skills such as business record creation and analysis and financial reporting such as income statements, balance sheets, expense studies, and tax returns.

Human Services: Earn your CADC (Certified Alcohol / Drug Counselor) online. Recruitment agencies offer a variety of services aimed at improving the lives of customers. Through this accredited program and qualification, recruitment agencies seek to help each customer make good decisions, find resources to overcome problems, and inspire the customer to improve.

Supply Chain Management: CLC’s supply chain management program was developed with founding partner Grainger and focuses on the continuous flow of materials, starting with customer service and procurement through to delivery to the customer. Build your knowledge and learn the skills you need to become a team leader or supervisor as you prepare for a career focused on sourcing, inventory management, warehousing, sales, logistics and transportation.

In addition to these online programs, CLC has listened to the latest demands from employers in the pharmaceutical industry and created a new certificate for pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy technicians are essential to healthcare and provide vital support to both pharmacists and patients. These jobs are in demand and allow graduates to work in healthcare while helping others. It takes less than a year for students to receive their certificate and take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE). Classes are offered online and on the Southlake campus in Vernon Hills.

“When you talk about healthcare, pharmacy is like the center where the spokes of the industrial wheel come together,” said Dr. Derek Leiter, Program Director for Pharmaceutical Technicians. He recommends this path if students are interested in starting a healthcare career.

Looking for a more creative job? The Digital Media and Design degree program has five new certificates this fall, with which students acquire professional skills in four areas of focus: graphic design; Web development and interactive design, animation and digital A / V production and editing.
